We are going through the Gospel of John for the second time in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan. John is my favorite Gospel! There is SO much revealed to us about our new Covenant in this book, especially through the prayers of Jesus for His people! This book begins powerfully with verses 1-5:
1 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2 He was present originally with God. 3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. 4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. 5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
I LOVE the Amplified Bible here! It further explains 'in the beginning' to be 'before all time'! There IS no time or space in the realm of the Spirit! TIME was put into place for US while we live here on earth! So, before time was ever created, HE was already there! All of creation ('all things') were made by and came into existence through HIM! If you can establish that TRUTH firmly in the center of your being, then YOU will be able to accomplish all that God has anointed and appointed you to accomplish during your earthly ministry! Meditate on those verses above until you 'know that you know' the promises, and then go after them! AMEN! Here is Hillsong Worship with "What A Beautiful Name":
