Shalom,

If you are reading along with the Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan, then you read 2 Kings 4 today. This is the account of the widow of one of the sons of the prophets who was desperately in need and asked Elisha for help. When Elisha asked her what she had in the house that was of any value, she said she had nothing but a jar of oil. The instructions that the prophet gave to the woman were not outlandish or difficult to do! Look at verses 3-4:
Then he said, Go around and borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels—and not a few. And when you come in, shut the door upon you and your sons. Then pour out [the oil you have] into all those vessels, setting aside each one when it is full.

Pretty simple and straight-forward instructions, right? He said to go to ALL of her neighbors and ask for empty vessels that could be filled! What was her response? Look at verse 5:

So she went from him and shut the door upon herself and her sons, who brought to her the vessels as she poured the oil.

She obeyed the man of God! What was the result of her obedience? Look at verse 6:

When the vessels were all full, she said to her son, Bring me another vessel. And he said to her, There is not a one left. Then the oil stopped multiplying.

As long as there were empty vessels to be filled, the oil kept coming! Supernatural supply was hers because of her obedience to a simple and a little silly instruction! The supply stopped at the end of her preparation! How much of a harvest are YOU prepared to receive and accommodate? When God gives you general instruction through His Word, and then specific instruction by His Spirit, be instantly and consistently obedient! Prepare for abundance, because we serve the God of Abundance! AMEN! The prophet then told her to do this with the oil, in verse 7:

Then she came and told the man of God. He said, Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons live on the rest.

She now was out of debt and had no one holding anything over her head. YOU can be in the same position, and even better, by simply being obedient to the leading, direction and instruction of the Spirit of God! What is HE telling YOU to do? Well, DO IT! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Endless Light":

Shalom in Him!
