Shalom,

If we are going to study the Bible with the intention to obey it, it is pretty hard to get very far in today's Bible Reading Plan! We begin with Psalm 9 and verses 1-2 say this:

I WILL praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works and wonderful deeds! I will rejoice in You and be in high spirits; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High!

This NOT just a figure of speech or a nice, spiritual thing to say! This TAKES a determined purpose! This "praise" is the Hebrew word"yadah", which differs from "halal", which is exuberant and showy praise. "Yadah" means to worship with extended hands, to give thanks, to laud, to declare, to acknowledge, to recognize. This is NOT a simple speaking of the things He's done, but we are to do this with our whole heart! "Whole" is the Hebrew word "kol", which means exactly what we THINK it  means: all, any, every, totality, the entirety. This means that we are to give Him thanks with our whole being! This is more than just a "routine" "Thank You, Jesus"! This is a recounting of ALL the good things He has done for you! If YOU begin your Bible Reading Plan with the Psalms, you may find that you don't even get to the rest for quite some time! Why do I say that? Because of James 1:17:

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. KJV

There is not one good person, place, thing or event in YOUR life that did not come to you from HIM! SO, let's get started praising, thanking, acknowledging, lauding and declaring ALL of the wonderful blessings we have from HIM! AMEN! If you did your Bible Reading Plan early today, then take the time to go back and really do this well! it is NEVER a bad time to thank Him! Here is Hillsong with "I Give You My Heart":

Shalom in Him!
