Kenneth E. Hagin's Faith Food for today is another vital teaching that born again believers MUST come to really know in order to walk in any type of victory in this life!
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Cor. 5:17).
Today's text is one of my favorite scriptures. I got ahold of it while I was still a bedfast teenager. And when I came off that bed healed, I told everyone I met, "I am a new creature!" Meditate on this verse today, because if you do not understand the truth of what the New Birth is, it will hinder your faith and will keep you from receiving the blessings God intends you to have.
The spiritual nature of man, you see, is a fallen nature - a satanic nature. Man received this satanic nature from Satan when Adam sinned. And no man can change his own human nature. But God can! When you were born again, something went on inside you - instantaneously! That old, satanic nature went out of you. And the very life and nature of God came into you! God created you as a brand-new creature - a new creation. The man on the inside - the real you, which is a spirit man - has already become a new man in Christ.
So don't look at yourself from the physical or the natural standpoint. Look at yourself from the spiritual standpoint. See yourself as a new creature in Christ. That's how God sees you!
Confession: I am a new creature. Old things inside me passed away. All things inside me became new. I have a new life. I have a new nature. I have the life of God!
The best way that I have of explaining this wonderful Truth is that once our spirit man is made new with the Spirit of Almighty God living there, our spirit does NOT sin! Now we sin, making selfish choices to do things our own way instead of God's way, with our soul (mind, emotions and will), and with our bodies. Paul said that he had trouble not sinning (Romans 7)! What did Paul do? He obeyed 1 John 1:9, confessing his sin and receiving God's forgiveness for it! What sin will do in the life of a born again believer is keep us from close, intimate fellowship with HIM! It will also hinder us from walking in the fullness of the Blessing of the Kingdom of God operating here in the earth! What it will NOT do is keep us from Heaven when we leave this earth! EVERY sin was covered by the blood of Jesus except the sin of rejecting Him! If you operate in sin you will still go to Heaven, you just might get there faster! WE are to bring the Kingdom of God, with all of His power, into the lives of people here setting them free! Begin to be Kingdom of God minded (not Kingdom of Heaven, it's NOT time to go there just yet!) so that you will be alert and active to operate in Kingdom of God principles that will set people free and point them to HIM!
