Shalom,

We read Matthew 12 in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan for today. I want to look specifically at verses 33-37:

33 Either make the tree sound (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad); for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit. 34 You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things. 36 But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak. 37 For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.

Proverbs 15:4 shows us that the tree Jesus is speaking of in verse 33 is the tongue!

4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. KJV

The word "wholesome" here is the Greek word "marpe", which means: curative, a medicine, a cure, deliverance, healing, healthy. So a wholesome tongue is one that speaks HIS Word of Truth over our lives and over those in our realm of authority! Mark 11:23 tells us this:

23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. AMP

The Wuest Translation says this:

Truly, I am saying to you, Whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and be thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that that which he says comes to pass, it shall be his.

Find out what the Word of God has to say about every area of your life, especially your body, then speak it out! The results are health, healing, wholeness, wellness and fitness! Proverbs 18:20-21 warns us about this:

20 A man's self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. AMP

Check your "tree" and take account of your own words! Are they HIS Words? If not, change them! AMEN! Here is Hillsong Chapel with "Forever Reign":

Shalom in Him!
