We are reading Psalm 23 and Matthew 23 today in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan. Psalm 23 tells us of the great provision we have in our Great Shepherd, Jesus! Matthew 23 gives us the account of this same Jesus speaking of and to the scribes and Pharisees about the errors of their ways. So many times we read this passage and imagine that He is so angry at them! In reality, this God of LOVE (1 John 4:8) was so filled with love and compassion for them that His heart was broken over their unbelief and failure to see. We must always realize that EVERYTHING that Jesus did and does is motivated by His eternal LOVE for us! Every word He spoke to them was meant to pierce their unbelief and turn their hearts back to the One, True God! I LOVE the Visual Bible: Matthew with Bruce Marchiano portraying Jesus. He very accurately, and convincingly, shows this aspect of the ministry of Jesus! Today I want to share two video clips that contain Matthew 23 so you can get a feel of the heart of Jesus!
