Shalom,

Psalm 2:1-3 says this:
Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme? The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They sayLet us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.

This is exactly what is going on in our nation, and in the world, right now! Christians are being persecuted, and even murdered, all over the world. The standards set by the Word of God that THIS nation was founded on are constantly under attack by those who do NOT want to acknowledge the One, True, Most High, Living , Almighty God of the Bible! They gather themselves together to make decisions and decrees that THEY expect other nations to follow. It WOULD be downright depressing EXCEPT for what WE know! Look at verse 4:

He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].

THAT is God's viewpoint on all of this! HE is not shaking in His boots! HE LAUGHS AT THEM! Make the decision TODAY that YOU will base every belief you hold on the TRUTH of the Word of God (John 17:17)! Then YOU will NOT be one whom the LORD holds in great derision! In fact, WE are heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:17)! Look at the promise that God the Father made to Jesus, and therefore to us, also! Verses 8-9:
Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters’ ware.

WE are to pray for them to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus as the Christ (Messiah) and the Saviour of the world! Then HE delivers this warning and admonition to THEM in verses 10-12:
10 Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him]. 12 Kiss the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled. O blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!

AMEN! Now aren't you glad that you decided to read through the Bible with us this year? There is SO much in the Word of God that we will NEVER stop learning more of it unless we quit. WE WILL NOT! Agreed? Now let's praise Him for what He's already done! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "God Who Saves":

Shalom in Him!
