We are reading through the Book of Proverbs in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan and it is all about WISDOM! I LOVE Proverbs 4:7:
7 The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).
The beginning of Wisdom, or the 'start to being wise', is to realize that we are not yet! To realize that we NEED Wisdom and that we must go after it! Those who think they already 'know it all' are some of the least wise people I have ever met! Even the apostle Paul, who wrote more of the New Testament than anyone else said that HE made it his serious goal to learn MORE (Philippians 3:10 AMP)! We will never, in this life, know all there is to know! I really believe that we will be spending time in the next life still learning about our LORD and the wonders of His person! Then we have this from John 14:26:
26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
Make it YOUR 'determined purpose' to get to know JESUS more every day, and then put into practice the things you are learning! Remind yourself of the above promise and expect Holy Spirit to do HIS part in bringing back to your remembrance those powerful TRUTHS that are found in His Word!! AMEN!
