Shalom,

In case you haven't already noticed, this time through the Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan I have enjoyed the Psalms more than any other year! No believer can truly appreciate the Old Testament until we know what our New Covenant, revealed in the New Testament (specifically in the Epistles), means to us! Once we understand what Jesus has done for us, we can truly appreciate all of the vital Truth found in the Old, which ALL points toward the coming Messiah! Today I especially like Psalm 146:3-5:

Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help. When his breath leaves him, he returns to his earth; in that very day his [previous] thoughts, plans, and purposes perish. Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God

Do not exalt the opinions of natural men and women over what you KNOW the Bible says! Where ANYONE disagrees with the Word of God, THEY are WRONG! Sometimes "DEAD WRONG"! So refuse to allow your born again, Spirit-filled self to be dragged down to an earthly and worldy way of thinking, speaking and acting! Renew YOUR soul with the Word of God, with the Spirit of God as your Teacher, and learn to think, speak and act LIKE GOD! Jesus SAID that we would do the things that He was doing during His earthly ministry (John 14:12)! WHY would you settle for anything less? DON'T! The choice is completely, and only, YOURS! Choose wisely! AMEN! The rest of Psalm 146 (verses 6-10) remind us WHY we worship HIM!

Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets free the prisoners, The Lord opens the eyes of the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those upright in heart and in right standing with Him). The Lord protects and preserves the strangers and temporary residents, He upholds the fatherless and the widow and sets them upright, but the way of the wicked He makes crooked (turns upside down and brings to ruin). 10 The Lord shall reign forever, even Your God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

AMEN! Now praise Him with this from Hillsong with "This Is Our God":

Shalom in Him!
