Shalom,

We began looking at wisdom yesterday. We found that the "fear" of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It is the place where wisdom starts to operate in our lives. We saw that the "fear" of the Lord is reverance, awe, respect, honor and being in an attitude of worship. We encouraged everyone to meditate on the greatness of our Lord. We want to help with that today by looking at some Scriptures that discuss His greatness. The word we will be looking at today is "Almighty".

Gen 17:1
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.(KJV)

Gen 35:11
11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;(KJV)

Exod 6:3
3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.(KJV)

Job 37:23
23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.(KJV)

Ps 91:1
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.(KJV)

In all of these verses the "Almighty" is the Hebrew word: Shadday or Shaddai. It means all mighty or most powerful. He is ALL we will ever need! The New Testament also has some references to the Almighty:

Rev 1:8
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.(KJV)

Rev 15:3
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.(KJV)

The word "Almighty" here means:the Almighty, Omnipotent, all powerful, all ruling, referring to God as the absolute and universal Sovereign! It also means: He Who holds sway over all things, the Ruler of all.

As you meditate on these things you will begin to realize the Scripture that says:

Mark 10:27
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.(KJV
)

The Lord we love and the God we serve is powerful and mighty and CAN DO all that He says He can and will do! Keep meditating, you're getting wiser by the moment!

Shalom in Him!
