Shalom,

We're going to look at another verse today that, if we meditate on it until it becomes real to us, will absolutely change our lives. That verse is:

John 10:10 (KJV)
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

We all know what a thief does. The thief referred to here is the devil, our adversary (1 Peter 5:8) and our enemy (Matthew 13:39). He comes for the sole purpose of stealing from us, killing us, and destroying our lives. But Jesus Himself said that He came for a different purpose! He said that He came so that we may have life. That "life" is the Greek word: zoe, which means real and genuine life, active and vigorous life, the absolute fullness of life. In other words, it's life as God has it in Himself! The Amplified bible says it very well:

John 10:10 (Amplified)
10The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

He wants us to have and enjoy the same "life" force that He has in Himself! God's life in us will put us in a position to be blessed, prosperous, healthy, whole, filled with peace, confident, delivered and able to deliver others! That's why Jesus came, but not everyone will be able to take advantage of that life. This verse tells us who qualifies:

1 John 5:11-13 (KJV)
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The Amplified bible says:

1 John 5:11-13
11And this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life.
13I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God, so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life
.

This "eternal life" is "zoe", the life that God has in Himself! That life belongs to every born again believer! If you have received Jesus of Nazareth as your personal Savior, then you have His life in you. If you haven't, then you don't! Is there ANY reason you can't receive Jesus as your personal Savior right now? Pray this prayer:

Almighty God, I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ came to this earth, died on the cross for me, was raised from the dead, and is now seated at Your right hand. I accept and receive Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and I invite Him to come into my heart and become Lord over my life. I thank You now Father, for welcoming me into Your family. You are my Father. I am Your child. Jesus is my Lord! Amen.

Now you are a child of God and you have His life in you. Get into His Word and find out who you are in Him!
