I have already shared here that the Gospel of John is my favorite Gospel. Chapters 15-17 are especially powerful! Today we are reading John 17 in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan! Look at verse 17 first of all.
17 Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
This verse right here establishes forever that the Word of God IS our final authority! His Word reveals His WILL for us! Find it in the Word and no one will ever be able to steal that Truth from you! Then in verses 20-21 JESUS is speaking about US!
20 Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching, 21 That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.
JESUS desires to be in OUR presence! WE should be the ones desiring HIS presence! Verse 26:
26 I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them.
The most important thing that we, as born again, Spirit-filled believers can do is to be so God-inside minded that everything we say and do reflects HIS nature, HIS joy and HIS love! He IS the Answer that every person is looking for. Let's make JESUS famous! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with an older, but very appropriate song called "Shout Your Fame":
