We read Psalm 100 in our Bible Reading Plan for today. here it is from the Amplified Bible:
1 MAKE A joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing! 3 Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. [Eph 2:10.] 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations. AMP
This is called "A Psalm of thanksgiving". THIS is the proper attitude to have towards the One, True, Most High, Living, Almighty God of the Bible, and THIS is how to respond to Him! I think that the Message Bible is very interesting, too:
A thanksgiving psalm
1 On your feet now — applaud God! 2 Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence.
3 Know this: God is God, and God, God. He made us; we didn't make him. We're his people, his well-tended sheep. 4 Enter with the password: "Thank you!" Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. 5 For God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.
I really like "make yourselves at home, talking praise"! We were MADE to praise Him! It is in our very nature as born again believers to give praise, thanksgiving and worship to Him! If YOU haven't been feeling quite like yourself lately, check your praise life! Make the adjustments necessary to become a consistent giver of thanks and praise to HIM!
