We have heard John 3:16 referred to as "the Gospel in a nutshell", meaning that this verse describes the Gospel in simple terms. Here it is:


16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. AMP

This was God's intended purpose from before the creation of the world and the making of mankind! He KNEW that we would fall and that when we received His free gift of salvation, we would be BETTER off because now He can live IN US! HALLELUJAH! Did Jesus know what His purpose was? Look at Luke 19:10:

 ¹⁰ For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

THIS was His purpose on the earth and it is  now the purpose of the Church of Jesus of Nazareth (Mark 16:15)! I LOVE what our partner Jerry O'Dell says about this!
