Proverbs 9:10-11 says this:
10 The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding. 11 For by me [Wisdom from God] your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.
James 1:5 tells us that if we lack wisdom, we should ask God for it. The fear of the Lord is reverence, respect and awe in His presence. It also includes obedience to Him and His Word! THAT is the very beginning of Wisdom! So, the next time you find yourself asking God for Wisdom, be prepared to instantly obey what He tells you to do! What does this resulting Wisdom do for you? It will "multiply your days" and give you long life! This is progressive! You won't be instantly wise, but you WILL grow day by day! Proverbs 9:9 says this:
9 Give instruction to a wise man and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man (one upright and in right standing with God) and he will increase in learning.
So start now, right where you're at. Obey the Word you know and continue to ask Him for more Wisdom. He delights in His people knowing Him! Amen! Here is a great song from Hillsong's Cornerstone album called "Stand In Awe":
Shalom in Him!
