Proverbs 13:13-14:
13 Whoever despises the word and counsel [of God] brings destruction upon himself, but he who [reverently] fears and respects the commandment [of God] is rewarded. 14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.
We have a confession that we make at The Spoken Word Church: "Anything good - give God the credit, thanksgiving and praise! Anything bad - don't blame God!" God IS the only and original source of all that is good! James 1:17 says this:
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. KJV
So, God gets the full credit for anything good, but who gets the "blame" for bad things? Proverbs 13:13 (above) tells us that those who turn away from the Word of God bring destruction, or anything bad, upon themselves! Verse 14 tells us that receiving the wisdom and knowledge that come from the Word of God will help you to avoid the bad things! You may still encounter serious situations, but you have the promise of God that He will deliver you out of them ALL, when you do things His way (Psalm 34:19 and 2 Timothy 3:11)! Amen! God's Word IS Truth (John 17:17) and contains within it the answer to every question and the solution to every problem! Search it out! You will be SO glad that you did!
