In Genesis 29 Jacob continues his journey from Bethel to Padan-aram to find a wife! Below is a map of the journey there:
The area is in modern day Syria, by Damascus. That was quite a distance to travel alone! Jacob must have really had his heart set on finding a good wife! It was "love" at first sight for Jacob when he saw Rachel! He worked seven years for her, that just seemed to fly by! Verse 20:
20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.
But Jacob's seed sown was about to reap a harvest! He tricked his brother out of his blessing and now Laban tricked him into marrying Leah! It is ALWAYS best to follow God's plan and timeline! If He promised it, He WILL do it, but it will be done right and produce blessings instead of problems!
