No matter what you may be going through in your life today, THIS promise from Psalm 20 in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan has an answer for you! Verses 6-8:
6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. 7 Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God. 8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright.
This IS an Old Covenant promise! Our Covenant is even better than this (Hebrews 8:6)! In our New Covenant, WE are God's Anointed! Look at 1 John 2:20 and 27:
20 But you have been anointed by [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have been given an unction from] the Holy One, and you all know [the Truth] or you know all things.
27 But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do].
You and I, as born again believers In Jesus Christ, have already received the Anointing, Holy Spirit Himself, living IN us! We ARE the anointed ones! God saves His Anointed!!! Old Testament promises have been made even better under this wonderful new Covenant that was sealed by the Blood of Jesus! Not only are we saved, delivered and protected from the enemy, we ARE the new Temple of the Lord, with the Lord our God living IN us by His Spirit! HALLELUJAH! We have continual access to the throne of God! The ONLY thing that will be better is when we are actually, physically in His presence! ALL of these wonderful blessings are for the purpose of seeking and saving the lost so that the Kingdom of God can continually grow until Jesus appears for us in the air.
