Shalom,

Have you ever felt yourself, or been told by others, that you are worthless or somehow less than every other believer because you make mistakes? I want you to see THIS today! 1 John 1:8 says this to born again believers! Remember, the Epistles are letters that were written to the churches!

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. KJV

Verse 10 goes on to say this:

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. KJV

So, it is established that once we are born again and our sin nature is done away with (2 Corinthians 5:17), we still live in this body that has not YET changed and have a soul (mind, emotions and will) that CAN be changed, progressively, day by day. While we are on earth and in these bodies, we will have to contend with the nature of the flesh, in all of its weaknesses (Galatians 5:16-25). We WILL sometimes sin (make selfish decisions to do things our own way instead of God's way in thought, word or deed). The GREAT news is found in verse 9:

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. KJV

This is a New Covenant promise! Under the Old Covenant, the people could have their sins covered by bringing animal sacrifices. WE have our sins completely cleansed away! I want to encourage you to go back over Psalm 107 from today's Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan and see how faithful our God was to bring them back when they repented! We read how the people would get involved with sin and bad things would begin to happen to them. They would turn back to God, crying out for His help, and He would deliver them! HOW MUCH MORE, will we be brought right back into perfect, intimate fellowship with Him when we, who are His children and members of His body, repent (change our thinking to agree with God), confess sin and receive forgiveness AND cleansing from any and all unknown sin! We are, of ALL people, MOST BLESSED! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "You Saw Me":

Shalom in him!
