Shalom,

I love the Book of Proverbs for all of its very practical insight, but that is NOT all there is! Everything that we read in this great Wisdom book is confirmation and encouragement for living in ALL of the promises of God (2 Corinthians 1:20; Hebrews 8:6; 2 Peter 1:4)! Look at Proverbs 18:20-21:

20 A man's self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

THIS is Wisdom! It it is also instruction and encouragement to make sure that we are speaking LIFE things! Luke 6:45 tells us this:

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. KJV

The ONLY way to control what we speak with our mouths is to control what goes INTO our hearts! Remember that the heart is the combination of our born again spirit and our needs-to-be-renewed-daily soul (mind, emotions and will). Keep speaking and meditating on the Word of God (Joshua 1:8), getting it into your heart in abundance, and then THAT is what you will be speaking out of your mouth, and you WILL be satisfied with GOOD things! AMEN! Another verse of Scripture that confirms this is found in John 15:7 in both the KJV and the Amplified Bible:

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. KJV

7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. AMP

The words you speak into your life are vitally important TO your life! Make sure that you are speaking the right words, Words of Life, HIS Words, and you will be well satisfied and blessed beyond measure! AMEN! Here is an older song from Hillsong called "Evermore" just because I like it!

Shalom in Him!
