Shalom,

We are reading Psalm 138 in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan for today. When you have been going through the Bible plan for more than 30 years, you will find that you have found very many 'favorite' verses! Especially if your church has a Pastor who teaches the Word of God boldly, accurately, uncompromisingly, and under the Anointing of Holy Spirit! You will have developed an intense love and respect for the presence of the Lord and for His mighty Word! So, there are a couple of my favorite verses found in this Psalm! Remember that the Old Testament comes alive with powerful meaning when we know who we are IN HIM, what we have IN HIM and what we can do IN HIM! We have every good thing that they had and SO MUCH MORE! AMEN! Let's look at verses 1-2:
I will confess and praise You [O God] with my whole heart; before the gods will I sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!

Did you see that? HE, Who has been given a Name that is above every other name that can be named, was given that Name by the mighty Word of the living God! So whatever your need, find out what the Word of God says about it. Meditate (Joshua 1:8 AMP) on that TRUTH (John 17:17) until you 'know that you know', and then begin to speak, declare and proclaim that Word as the answer over your life. Refuse to be moved by any other report, because they are all UNDER the NAME and the WORD! Thank You, JESUS! Now for another favorite, verse 8:

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, endure forever—forsake not the works of Your own hands.

"Perfect" here is the Hebrew word "gamar", which means: to complete, finish, perform. This is telling us that when we commit our lives, our hearts, our cares and concerns, our families and everything we care about into His hands, HE will cause everything to fall abundantly into the right places so that we can continue to give HIM glory, honor and praise for it all! Have confidence! After all, He who watches over you never sleeps or slumbers! (Psalm 121:4) He is ALWAYS on the job of showing Himself strong on the behalf of His own! AMEN! Shalom in Him!
