Yesterday we spoke of doing the works that Jesus did. Today's "Faith Food" by Kenneth E. Hagin shows us a little more!
The Works That I Do
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that Jesus went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, "Let us go over unto the other side of the lake." And they launched forth. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, "Master, master, we perish." Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, "Where is your faith?"John Alexander Dowie was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and moved to Australia as a young man. In 1875, while Dowie was pastoring a Congregational church in Newton, Australia, a terrible plague swept through that part of the country. It was during this plague that Dowie first received light on divine healing and the authority that believers possess.
(Luke 8:22-25)
I read that Dowie once said, "I have crossed the ocean fourteen times by ship. During those fourteen crossings, many storms arose. But every time a storm came up, I always did like Jesus did: I rebuked that storm. And every single one ceased."
Dowie knew that Jesus had said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Dowie knew that he was linked up with God. You and I are linked up with God just as much as Dowie or anyone else ever was.
Confession: I believe on Jesus. The works that Jesus did on the earth, I can do. Jesus said I could, so I can.
Amen! Let's continue to grow up in the Word of God and become consistent DOERS of that Word, bringing glory to HIM! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Children of the Light" (Children of the Light is who we are! Taking back what the devil has stolen is is what we do! AMEN!):
Shalom in Him!
