We know that as born again believers, we have the right to come boldly before the throne of God's Grace (into His presence) because of what Jesus accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection. Hebrews 4:16:
16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
We have the RIGHT, but we also have the responsibility of entering His presence properly! Psalm 100 from today's Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan shows us the way to do that!
A Psalm of thanksgiving and for the thank offering.
1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing! 3 Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.
Even though we are to come to Him in our time of need, we should NOT be doing so crying and whining about our problems, distresses, tests, trials and circumstances; but we should come in faith and joy, rejoicing in the promises of His Word and our Covenant with Him! We know that without faith, it is impossible to please God, so we had better get IN faith! How do we do that? Romans 8:17 tells us how!
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Get into the Word of God so that you KNOW what God has already provided for you. Keep hearing it by listening to teaching, speaking it to yourself, speaking of it to others, thinking about it and listening to Holy Spirit Who lives in you. Faith WILL come and THEN you can come boldly into His presence with all the confidence in the world that your prayer WILL be answered! How can I say that so confidently? Because 1 John 5:14-15 tells us so!
14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.
So let's not waste another minute in fear, worry or despair! Find out what belongs to you and go after it! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Light Will Shine":
Shalom in Him!
