Psalm 60:12 is a promise that we should be rejoicing over!
12 Through God we shall do valiantly, for He it is Who shall tread down our adversaries.
"Do" is the Hebrew word "`asah", which means: to accomplish; make; produce; work; to bring about; to attend to; to deal with. "Valiantly" is the Hebrew word "chayil", which means: strength; might; efficiency; wealth; army. Do you remember last week when we saw from Psalm 56 and Psalm 118 that God is FOR us? HE is on our side! Verse 12 above is one of the results of having the God of the Bible be FOR us! Now, in order to walk in the fullness of this promise, WE must make sure that WE stay on God's side! Our New Covenant promises are BETTER than even this promise (Hebrews 8:6)! Look at 1 Corinthians 15:57:
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now look at 1 John 5:4:
4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Also, Romans 8:37:
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Finally, James 4:7:
7 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.
The Word of God provides for our protection, provision and safety, BUT, we must give the Word of God top priority in our lives in order to be able to stand strong on it! There is no greater authority than the Truth found in the Word of God! Make use of the Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan in order to be consistent, and then meditate on all that you read (Joshua 1:8) so that the Holy Spirit can bring the understanding that is needed in order to be DOERS of that Word (James 1:22)! HE confirms HIS Word with signs, wonders and miracles when WE dare to speak it out (Mark 16:20), and then to stand strong ON it! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Mighty To Save":
