Shalom,

On Sunday we spoke a little about the Body of Christ. Every born again believer is a member of the Body of Christ. Let's look today at Kenneth E. Hagin's "Faith Food":

His Body

"Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular" (1 Cor. 12:27).

We've sometimes prayed about the Lord's work upon the earth like this: "Lord, You do this. Lord, You do that."  But think about what Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 and 19, "All power, authority is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore." The Lord Jesus Christ conferred the authority on the earth upon us. He commissioned us to go.

Actually, the authority that Christ can exercise on the earth has to be exercised through the Church. The Church is His Body. And the Church is here. Christ is not here. He's at the right hand of the Father. Christ is the Head of the Church, but all of His orders have to be carried out through His Body. Everything Christ does on the earth has to be done through His Body.  You're a member in particular of Christ's Body. He has conferred upon you authority over all the power of the enemy!

Confession: I am a member in particular of the Body of Christ. I am a worker together with God in the completing of His work upon the earth. I am well-equipped. I am endued with power and authority in Jesus' Name. And I will faithfully fulfill my part in God's plan.
"Particular" in the verse above is the Greek word "meros", which means: a division or share, a section or allotment; a part assigned to me; one of the constituents of a whole. TOGETHER we make up the entire Body of Christ, of which Jesus Himself is the head! We each have an individual part to play, job to do, ministry to fulfill, but as we do, we are making one complete unit! We are instructed in 2 Corinthians 10:12 not o compare ourselves with others. We each will have to answer for what WE have done with the gifts and callings which we have received from HIM! Together, when each of us is doing our own "assignment", we are reaching our world for HIM! AMEN! All of this has to be done through faith and obedience, of course! We know that without faith it is impossible to please HIM (Hebrews 11:6)! Without obedience, nothing gets done. I was reminded of this in reading Deuteronomy 1:2 for today in our Bible Reading Plan.

It is [only] eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea [on Canaan’s border; yet Israel took forty years to get beyond it].

Because they lacked faith, which caused them to become disobedient, the original "grownup" generation who left Egypt never got to see the promised land! Let's commit that this will NOT be what happens to us! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with a much older song called "Run To You":

Shalom in Him!
