Shalom,

Luke 4:1-13 says this:
Then Jesus, full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Holy Spirit For (during) forty days in the wilderness (desert), where He was tempted (tried, tested exceedingly) by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they were completed, He was hungry. Then the devil said to Him,
If You are the Son of God, order this stone to turn into a loaf [of bread].
And Jesus replied to him, It is written, Man shall not live and be sustained by (on) bread alone but by every word and expression of God.
Then the devil took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time in the twinkling of an eye]. And he said to Him,
To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will. Therefore if You will do homage to and worship me [just once], it shall all be Yours.
And Jesus replied to him, Get behind Me, Satan! It is written, You shall do homage toand worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.
Then he took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on a gable of the temple, and said to Him,
If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here; 10 For it is written, He will give His angels charge over you to guard and watch over you closely and carefully; 11 And on their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus replied to him, [The Scripture] says, You shall not tempt (try, test exceedingly) the Lord your God.
13 And when the devil had ended every [the complete cycle of] temptation, he [temporarily] left Him [that is, stood off from Him] until another more opportune and favorable time.

I know that most of you are very familiar with this Biblical account. Today I want to emphasize something in particular! Notice that when Jesus was tempted, He was tempted "by the devil"! It was NOT God who tempted Him, and it is NEVER God who tempts YOU! Look at James 1:13:

13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one.

I know that some of you have heard, sometimes by people you love and respect, that God will sometimes bring bad things to "teach you"! I want you to see, once and for all, that this is nothing but a LIE! Look at these Scriptures:

1 John 4:8 He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love.

1 John 1:5 And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all [no, not in any way].

NO, the Holy Spirit is your Teacher! He is THE most excellent Teacher, and He needs NO help from the devil and his works and workers of darkness! Look at this in John 14:26:

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

So don't ever believe that lie again! Your Heavenly Father teaches and corrects you (and ME!) by and through His Word! We are told to be DOERS of the Word (James 1:22) so that we CAN grow up in the things of God! Let's be about THAT and bring glory to HIM! AMEN! Here is Hillsong Worship with an Easter song called "O Praise The Name":

Shalom in Him!
