Shalom,

In The Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan for today we read this in John 21:18-22:

18 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, when you were young you girded yourself [put on your own belt or girdle] and you walked about wherever you pleased to go. But when you grow old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will put a girdle around you and carry you where you do not wish to go. 19 He said this to indicate by what kind of death Peter would glorify God. And after this, He said to him, Follow Me! 20 But Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved, following--the one who also had leaned back on His breast at the supper and had said, Lord, who is it that is going to betray You? 21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, Lord, what about this man? 22 Jesus said to him, If I want him to stay (survive, live) until I come, what is that to you? [What concern is it of yours?] You follow Me!

Jesus was revealing to Peter some of what would take place in Peter's life. Instead of asking Jesus any further questions about his own life and calling, Peter asked about John! I LOVE the response from Jesus! He said "What is that to you?" In other words, Jesus was telling Peter to mind his own business! How often do YOU concern yourself with , or compare yourself to, other people? As unique as every living person is, with our own individual finger prints and personalities, so is our individual calling from God unique and different! We all may overlap each other, but we CANNOT duplicate each other! Look at Jeremiah 1:5:

5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. AMP

This same God, Who is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11), has called YOU! Spend time in His presence so that you can hear His voice, and then go out with boldness to DO what He has called YOU to do! AMEN! He Who has called you will also provide everything necessary for you to fulfill that calling (1 Thessalonians 5:24)! Our rewards in Heaven will be determined by our obedience, in this life, to that Heavenly calling! Let's be about our Father's business so that we can all hear, "Well done good and faithful servant: (Matthew 25:21 & 23)! Here is Hillsong with "The Difference":

Shalom in Him!
