I LOVE the Gospel of John! Verses 1-5:
1 IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2 He was present originally with God. 3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. 4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. 5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
When you received Jesus of Nazareth as your Lord and personal Savior, you BECAME the new Light of the world because the LIGHT Himself now lives in you, by His Spirit! Realize that as hard as the enemy tries, he has never, and never will be able to, put out that LIGHT! Don't ever listen to thoughts of doubt, fear and unbelief again about who YOU are, in HIM! The enemy is a liar and the father of all liars! He does NOT want you to have confidence in the LIGHT that is IN you, because he knows that once you do, there will be no stopping you from accomplishing all that God has called you to accomplish! Remember 1 John 4:17:
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
