Shalom,

Psalm 92:1:

1 IT IS a good and delightful thing to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises [with musical accompaniment] to Your Name, O Most High.

We have the word "good" before, but it bears repeating! It is the Hebrew word "towb", which means: good, pleasant, excellent, agreeable, rich, valuable, appropriate, becoming, happy, prosperous, of good understanding. This is referring to the act of giving giving thanks and singing praises to the LORD! "Singing praises" is the Hebrew word "zamar", which means: give praise, sing forth praises, with the idea of striking with the fingers, to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument, to make music accompanied by the voice, to celebrate in song and music. In your private praise and worship you should be doing this! In public praise and worship you should be doing this also! Are YOU responsible for playing an instrument in the worship service at YOUR church? Then play it with your whole heart! If you are not, you are still responsible to play your own instrument! You can "strike with the fingers", also referred to as CLAPPING! There is nothing wrong, and VERY MUCH right, with clapping along with the singing during the praise service! Allow the Spirit of God to lead, guide and direct YOU in how to properly use YOUR instruments! AMEN!

I really enjoyed verses 12-15 in the Amplified Bible:

12 The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]. 13 Planted in the house of the LORD, they shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 [Growing in grace] they shall bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the ] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. 15 [They are living memorials] to show that the LORD is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

I LOVE palm trees, and now I know why! Here are some palm tree pictures from our Israel trip:

Aren't they beautiful trees?

In Luke 4 we read about Jesus being tempted for 40 days in the wilderness. He was led there by the Holy Spirit and He did not eat for the entire 40  days. Most people would be weak and thinking only of food if they didn't eat for that length of time, but Jesus had the inner strength and resolve to speak the Word to the enemy at every turn and in every situation! That PROVES what He said in verse 4:

4 And Jesus replied to him, It is written, Man shall not live and be sustained by (on) bread alone but by every word and expression of God.

Make sure that when YOU fast and pray before the LORD that you do not neglect feeding yourself on the TRUE FOOD of the Word of God! Then you, too, will have the needed strength and endurance to WIN the GOOD FIGHT of faith! Remember that it is GOOD because we WIN, IF we don't quit and give up! AMEN!

In Numbers 27-28 Moses anointed Joshua as his successor in leading the people of Israel into the promised land. The LORD reminds them of the daily, weekly, monthly and special offerings that they are to make before the LORD. He ALWAYS reminds us of His Word IF we will only listen and obey!

Shalom in Him!
