Shalom,

Psalm 62:6-8:

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

These verses reminded me of one of my favorite Hillsong songs from the "Blessed" CD called "With You":

In Mark 6 Jesus returns to His hometown of Nazareth. Remember that though He was born in Bethlehem, just south of Jerusalem, Jesus actually grew up in Nazareth after the return from Egypt. Below is a map that shows these areas:

Nazareth was a very small "town", more like a hamlet! One of those places where everyone knew everyone else AND their business! That really hurt some of the people there because it caused them to doubt Who Jesus really was! Verses 1-5:

1 JESUS WENT away from there and came to His [own] country and hometown [Nazareth], and His disciples followed [with] Him.

2 And on the Sabbath He began to teach in the synagogue; and many who listened to Him were utterly astonished, saying, Where did this Man acquire all this? What is the wisdom [the broad and full intelligence which has been] given to Him? What mighty works and exhibitions of power are wrought by His hands!

3 Is not this the Carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here among us? And they took offense at Him and were hurt [that is, they disapproved of Him, and it hindered them from acknowledging His authority] and they were caused to stumble and fall.
4 But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor (deference, reverence) except in his [own] country and among [his] relatives and in his [own] house.
5 And He was not able to do even one work of power there, except that He laid His hands on a few sickly people [and] cured them.

Jesus could only get those people to receive healing for a few "minor ailments" one translation reads!  It is a very good warning to us in 2 Corinthians 5:16-17:

16 Consequently, from now on we estimate and regard no one from a [purely] human point of view [in terms of natural standards of value]. [No] even though we once did estimate Christ from a human viewpoint and as a man, yet now [we have such knowledge of Him that] we know Him no longer [in terms of the flesh].
17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

We hurt ourselves if we don't recognize the anointing within and upon born again, spirit-filled believers! We are ALL human beings, BUT the Anointed One and HIS Anointing LIVES IN US! It is no longer us, but the ONE Who lives IN us! Receive from HIM!  It was the Anointing of God upon Moses that the people saw when he spent time in the presence of God. His face shone with the Glory of God's presence! THAT is how WE look to people when WE spend quality time in HIS presence! Don't put a basket over YOUR light - let HIM shine! AMEN!

Shalom in Him!
