Today we read Proverbs 14 in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan and I really love verses 26-27:

26 In the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children shall always have a place of refuge. 27 Reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.

The fear of the Lord is exactly what is written here! Reverence, awe and worship. We are not to be IN fear, which is an evil spirit, but we are to be IN AWE of the One, True, Most High, Living, Almighty God of the Bible! The GOD of all creation! The GOD of our SALVATION! He IS GOD and there IS no other! And what are the promised results of holding HIM in reverence, respect, awe, worship and exaltation? Strong confidence in HIM is one of those results! Safety and preservation is another! Other Proverbs tell us that this attitude of reverence and awe towards the One True God also results in WISDOM! Let's make 2021 the year that we commit to KNOW and LOVE the Lord our God more every single day! Begin following the Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan again with an emphasis on learning something new about HIM every single day!
