Here is an Old Testament promise that has been made even better under our new and better Covenant (Hebrews 8:6)! Look at Psalm 5:11-12:
11 But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits. 12 For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).
Not only are we who have received Jesus as Lord and personal Savior under the safety and protection of God, but now we have the Spirit of God Himself living IN us! He warns us of things to come, reveals the plots and schemes of the enemy, becomes our strength in weakness, gives us the wisdom needed for every situation and gives us the powerful WORD to speak that will bring victory in each situation. We are, of all people, MOST BLESSED! Amen! With that wonderful blessing comes an awesome responsibility! We are told this in Matthew 5:13-16:
13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.
We have the responsibility to BE the light and the salt in this world where it looks like no one wants to follow the God of the Bible or His Word. We are living in times that could quite accurately be called "as in the days of Noah"! The people who don't want anything to do with God are railing against individuals and churches who stand up for the Truth. They did the very same thing to Jesus! We are in the BEST company! AMEN! Here is another promise for us! Matthew 5:10-12:
10 Blessed and happy and enviably fortunate and spiritually prosperous (in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake (for being and doing right), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! 11 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of your outward conditions) are you when people revile you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely on My account. 12 Be glad and supremely joyful, for your reward in heaven is great (strong and intense), for in this same way people persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Remember that these people, above all else, need a Savior! Refuse to allow attacks of the enemy stop you from sharing the Good News of the Gospel with everyone you know! Forgive them, leave them in God's hands and move on! There are MANY more to reach before Jesus returns for us! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Running", because that's what we're doing!
