We, as born again believers, are instructed to do THIS in Romans 12:1-2:
1 I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. AMP
We KNOW that we have Heaven as our home when we leave this earth! Here we are instructed how to conduct ourselves while we are still here! We are born again to stand out from the world! God has a plan and a purpose for us to be here, or He would immediately take us to Heaven, which is FAR better (Philippians 1:23)! Remember that we looked at Luke 19:10 to see what Jesus said His purpose was:
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost. AMP
THAT is why we are here! Our lives should so shine forth HIS life in us that people are drawn to Him through us! THAT is the message for today! Romans 12 goes on to tell us this in verse 11:
11 Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord. AMP
We are to be on fire for the things of God! There is a song, by Hillsong, that we have sung many times at The SWC called "Church On Fire". We believe that we ARE a "church on fire", but it starts with each individual person! THIS song, that we sang at our service today, speaks to that! Do YOU have His fire in YOUR eyes?
