Psalm 136 is a wonderful Thanksgiving Psalm! Verses 1-3 call on us to give HIM thanks and then verses 4-25 tell us why! Verse 26 reminds us again to give HIM thanks! Here are verses 1-3:
1 O GIVE thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever. 2 O give thanks to the God of gods, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever. 3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever--
Read the rest of the Psalm to find out the many things He did for Israel and know that YOU have a better covenant with god than they did! Begin to be more thankful each day for all of the wonderful things that he has done for YOU! John 13:1 says this:
1[NOW] BEFORE the Passover Feast began, Jesus knew (was fully aware) that the time had come for Him to leave this world and return to the Father. And as He had loved those who were His own in the world, He loved them to the last and to the highest degree.
