In Psalm 102 the psalmist is recounting all of his many problems and calling on the LORD to answer. Then in verses 12-13 he starts to declare, in faith, what the LORD WILL do!
12 But You, O LORD, are enthroned forever; and the fame of Your Name endures to all generations. 13 You will arise and have mercy and loving-kindness for Zion, for it is time to have pity and compassion for her; yes, the set time has come [the moment designated].
Then verse 18 is speaking about us, the Church!
18 Let this be recorded for the generation yet unborn, that a people yet to be created shall praise the LORD.
Remember 2 Corinthians 5:17:
17 Therefore if any person is in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
We ARE that "people yet to be created" at the time of the writing of this Psalm, but we were ALWAYS in the mind and heart of the One, True God! So let's praise HIM! AMEN! Here is Hillsong's "You Are More":
Luke 23 covers the remainder of the trial and the crucifixion of our Lord and personal Savior, Jesus of Nazareth. I want to share this that I found in the Bible Exposition Commentary:
I have heard so many people debate whether it was the Jewish leaders or the Roman authorities that Crucified Jesus of Nazareth. I contend that it was neither, and it was both! I AM the guilty party, because even if I was the only one, it was MY sin that caused Jesus to HAVE to pay the price to buy me back from the control of the enemy! Have you joined me in receiving that precious gift of eternal salvation yet? If not, please do, before it's no longer available for you to do so!
Jeremiah is lamenting over the fact that God's chosen people have turned away from the One, True God. They felt that they were chosen, but wanted to act just like the rest of the world and wanted God to rescue them anyway! They were filled with pride and arrogance and no longer even acknowledged the God of the Bible. We, as born again believers, should check our own heart attitude daily to make sure that we are not taking for granted "so great salvation" (Hebrews 2:3). Jeremiah 9:23-24 are as much for the Church today (US!) as they were for then:
23 Thus says the LORD: Let not the wise and skillful person glory and boast in his wisdom and skill; let not the mighty and powerful person glory and boast in his strength and power; let not the person who is rich [in physical gratification and earthly wealth] glory and boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] riches. 24 But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the LORD, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the LORD.
Let's be a DOER of that Word and bring honor and glory to HIM!
Shalom in Him!
