Psalm 103 is very familiar to most of us! This psalm, along with the next three, close out Book Four of the entire book of Psalms. They each emphasize giving praise to the LORD for different reasons. They are:

  • Psalm 103  --  His benefits to His people.
  • Psalm 104  --  His care of His creation.
  • Psalm 105  --  His wonderful acts on behalf of Israel.
  • Psalm 106  --  His longsuffering with His people's rebellion.
All of four of these Psalms involve giving praise to the LORD without any requests made. Psalm 103 begins with individual, personal praise. Verse 1:

1 BLESS (AFFECTIONATELY, gratefully praise) the LORD, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy Name!

We who are born again believers in Jesus of Nazareth are, of ALL people, MOST BLESSED! Don't ever allow yourself to forget His blessings in your life!  He has ALREADY blessed us abundantly (Ephesians 1:3). Whether or not we appropriate those blessings is completely and only OUR OWN CHOICE!  Verse 7:

7 He made known His ways [of righteousness and justice] to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.

Be a Moses and get to know HIM! Walking in the fullness of THE BLESSING requires it!

In Luke 24 we see that the women went to the tomb and found that Jesus was no longer there. They reported back to the men what the angels told them. This was their reaction in verse 11:

11 But these reports seemed to the men and idle tale (madness, feigned things, nonsense), and they did not believe the women.

So, as I have stated before, give Thomas a break! No one but the women believed the report until they saw Jesus with their own eyes! WE are among those Jesus referred to when He spoke to Thomas in John 20:29b:

29b Blessed and happy and to be envied are those who have never seen Me and yet have believed and adhered to and trusted and relied on Me.

Amen! But the Holy Spirit will reveal Him to us so that when we DO see Him face to face, we will already KNOW Him! I am really looking forward to THAT day! Soon and very soon we are ALL going to see King Jesus! Hallelujah! In the meantime, here is Hillsong with "We Will See Him":

Shalom in Him!
