I want to talk today about fellowship. I once heard a minister say that what most Christians call fellowship, isn't really fellowship at all. He said that fellowship is not around the coffee cup or the potluck supper, it must be around the Word of God. This Scripture shows that:
1 John 1:1-5
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
The Amplified Bible says this:
1 John 1:1-5
1[WE ARE writing] about the Word of Life [in] Him Who existed from the beginning, Whom we have heard, Whom we have seen with our [own] eyes, Whom we have gazed upon [for ourselves] and have touched with our [own] hands.
2And the Life [an aspect of His being] was revealed (made manifest, demonstrated), and we saw [as eyewitnesses] and are testifying to and declare to you the Life, the eternal Life [in Him] Who already existed with the Father and Who [actually] was made visible (was revealed) to us [His followers].
3What we have seen and [ourselves] heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And [this] fellowship that we have [which is a distinguishing mark of Christians] is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
4And we are now writing these things to you so that our joy [in seeing you included] may be full [and your joy may be complete].
5And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all [no, not in any way].
Our first fellowship priority is with our Father God and our Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit. When we spend time in their presence, then we have something to give in fellowship with other believers. But our fellowship should ALWAYS be around the Word of God. No matter what we're doing, watching sports, watching movies, playing games, the Holy Spirit will always teach us something through that if we're open to be taught. Then when we share that with each other, THAT'S true Christian fellowship! I plan on doing that a lot this weekend. How about you?

I want to share with you today from 1 John chapter 5 about answered prayer. First, though, we need to establish who these verses are addressed to. 1 John 5:11-13 tells us this:
1 John 5:11-13
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
The Amplified Bible says this:

So we see from these Scriptures that the verses we will be looking at are directed to born again believers. Those who have received Jesus as Lord and personal Savior. Let's look, then, at 1 John 5:14-15:

14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
The Amplified Bible says:

15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
What we see here in 1 John is that what we have to do to get our prayers answered is to find out what God's will is. We know that His Word reveals His will, so what we are really saying is: find out what God's Word has to say. Ask according to His Word (His will) and he hears and when He hears, we HAVE IT! What a powerful promise!
Spend time today finding out what God has promised YOU! Then you can pray in faith believing and KNOWING that you have the answer. If you are not a believer, then this does not include you. Is there any reason you can't receive Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior today? Pray this prayer, believing, and receive:
Almighty God, I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ came to this earth, died on the cross for me, was raised from the dead, and is now seated at Your right hand. I accept and receive Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and I invite Him to come into my heart and become Lord over my life. I thank You now Father, for welcoming me into Your family. You are my Father. I am Your child. Jesus is my Lord. Amen!

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.(KJV)
Ps 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.(KJV)
Ps 63:5-65
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.(KJV)
Ps 77:11-1311

a primitive root, to murmur (in pleasure or anger); to ponder:
KJV-- imagine, meditate, mourn, mutter, roar, speak, study, talk, utter.
It also means: to moan, to growl, to utter, to muse, to devise, speak, to imagine
These Scriptures also talk about meditating:

I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.(KJV)
Ps 119:2323
Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.(KJV)
Ps 119:4848
My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.(KJV)
Ps 119:7878
Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.(KJV)
Ps 119:148148
Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.(KJV)
In all of these references, the word meditate is the Hebrew word:
siyach (see'-akh);
a primitive root; to ponder, i.e. converse (with oneself, and hence, aloud) or utter: KJV-- commune, declare, meditate, muse, pray, speak, talk (with).
It also means: to put forth, to ponder, to sing, to study, to ponder, to talk, to sing, to put forth thoughts
In all of these references we see that there is so much more to our study of God's Word than just reading. I have read through the Bible myself more than 20 times and some books of the Bible hundreds of times. But reading and memorizing is not what will change us or renew our souls. It is the continual meditation, the thinking about, pondering, imagining, speaking to ourselves and others, allowing the Holy Spirit Who is our Teacher to paint those pictures for us of what the Word is actually saying that will change our thinking and cause the Word of God to come alive to us. That is what will cause faith to rise in our hearts! When God's Word becomes real to us, it will not be hard to separate the Truth from the lies of the world!
Begin to really study what you read in the Word, after asking the Holy Spirit to teach you, and you will be amazed at how logical the Word will become. You will wonder why everyone doesn't see it as clear! That's when this life in the Spirit becomes full and fun and productive!

Shalom,
Today we want to look at renewing our souls. Remember that the soul is made up of the mind, emotions and will. The Bible tells us what to do with our minds:
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The word transformed here is the Greek word, metamorphoo, which means to change or transform. Renewing is the Greek word, anakainosis, which means renovation or a complete change for the better. In fact the Amplified translation makes that more clear:
2Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
Our souls, our mind, emotions and will, are changed progressively, day by day. James tells us this:
James 1:21 (KJV)
21Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
The Amplified Bible says this:
James 1:21 (Amplified)
21So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.
The engrafted word is the Word of God that you put in you. It has the power to change us into His image as we learn it, believe it and obey it!
Even Old Testament believers were told to do this. God Himself told Joshua this:

Our heavenly Father wants us to think and talk and act like Jesus. When we do, we will have the same results Jesus did in His ministry, and people will be drawn to Him, through us! That's why we're here. To draw all men unto Him!

Shalom,
In order to properly understand the Word of God, we need to understand a very basic Bible Truth about ourselves. Just as God (or the Godhead) is a triune being (the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit), so we are also triune beings. We are spirit beings who possess souls and live in bodies.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)
23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the new birth it is the spirit of man that is born again:
2 Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified)
17Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
Our spirits are made new, in His image. Our previous spiritually dead nature was replaced with a new, godly nature. Our spirits are made perfect! Instantly! There is another instant change that will happen at a future time, I think very soon. That is the instant changing of our mortal bodies into immortal bodies, resurrection bodies:
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (Amplified)
51Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed)
52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed).
53For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us, this nature that is capable of dying] must put on immortality (freedom from death).
The other part of our being, our soul, does not change instantly while here on earth. Our soul is also triune, consisting of our mind, emotions and will. Our mind is our intellect, our emotions are our feelings and our will is our "chooser", what we make choices and decisions with. The changing of our souls is a progressive work that requires a daily decision to train ourselves to think like God. The Bible does tell us this:
1 John 3:2 (KJV)
2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Until THAT day, we need to renew our minds to think like God so that we can make right decisions with our souls that will result in our pleasing God while here in these bodies! We'll talk more about how to renew our souls tomorrow.

Yesterday we looked at John 3:16. Today we want to look at the next two verses:
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)
The Amplified translation says this:
17For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.
18He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation--he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.]
As believers we need to realize that the Gospel (Greek - euaggelion=good news, glad tidings, proclamation of the grace of God) is just that, GOOD NEWS. Verse 17 is really good news to a sinner. God did not send Jesus, or us, into the world to condemn or judge the world. The curse, the judgement, was already operating in the earth because of the sin of Adam. The sentence was already established:
Romans 6:23a
23For the wages of sin is death;
The price to paid for our sin is death, not physical death, but separation from God. What's the good news then? The rest of verse 23:
Romans 6:23
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God sent the Son, Jesus, into the world so that the world may find salvation through Him! That's the Good News! John 3:18 says that the sentence, the condemnation, the judgment is removed because of what Jesus accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection.
Let's be about our Father's business of telling the really Good News to all who need to hear! God's not holding anything against them! The ONLY sin that will keep a person out of heaven when they leave this earth is the sin of rejecting Jesus. Is there any reason YOU can't receive Jesus as YOUR Lord and Savior right now? Pray this prayer with me:

Shalom!
Today I want to look at one of the most well known verses in the New Testament.
John 3:16 (KJV)
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Some have called that verse the Gospel in a nutshell. I prefer to call it the heart of God. It is especially powerful in the Amplified translation of the Bible:
16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
The plan of salvation! God gave His only Son to buy back for Himself many sons! (and daughters!) The word "prized" in the dictionary means to value or esteem very highly. Our God so greatly loved and dearly prized (valued and esteemed) us that He sent His Son to leave His glory in heaven and live life here on earth as a man who would endure the same temptations as we do, yet He would never give in to sin. Because He was sinless, He qualified to pay the price for MY sin (and yours!). What an amazing Truth! God's great love for us overcame all the power of our enemy! All that is left is for us to accept and receive that free gift of Salvation, and belong to the famliy of God! Is there any reason you can't receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior right now? After believing in your heart, pray this prayer:
Almighty God, I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ came to this earth, died on the cross for me, was raised from the dead, and is now seated at Your right hand. I accept and receive Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and I invite Him to come into my heart and become Lord over my life. I thank You now Father, for welcoming me into Your family. You are my Father. I am Your child. Jesus is my Lord! Amen.

Today I want to look at one of the most well known verses in the New Testament.
John 3:16 (KJV)
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Some have called that verse the Gospel in a nutshell. I prefer to call it the heart of God. It is especially powerful in the Amplified translation of the Bible:
16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
The plan of salvation! God gave His only Son to buy back for Himself many sons! (and daughters!) The word "prized" in the dictionary means to value or esteem very highly. Shalom,
Following on in Paul's prayer in Philippians chapter 3, we see that while Paul had made knowing the Lord his most important goal, he had not accomplished all he wanted to in that area yet. In verse 12 we read:
Philippians 3:12-14 (Amplified)
12Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.
13I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
14I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
Paul understood something here that we as believers need to really grasp. We will never really "arrive" at spiritual maturity. We will never , in this life, know all there is to know about Jesus and His Word. We just get closer every day when we, like Paul, make it our determined purpose to do so! The next two verses are key for us:
Philippians 3:15-16 (Amplified)
15So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also.
16Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that.
We are to walk in the light we have. We are to obey the Word we know. At the same time, we are to press on to know more! We are to pursue knowing Him more every day. Then we have this promise:
1 John 3:2 (Amplified)
2Beloved, we are [even here and] now God's children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God's children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.
Hallelujah! What a glorious and blessed life He has given us to live! Make the most of it, every day!

Shalom,
Today I want to continue in Philippians chapter 3. Paul said that he held nothing in his life to be more important that knowing the Lord. The next verses, especially in the Amplified Bible, show the depth of his commitment to know the Lord:
Philippians 3:9-11
9And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law's demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith.
10[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]
11That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].
Paul wanted everyone to know that his right-standing with God did not come as a result of any good works on his part, but wholly and completely through faith in Jesus Christ and His precious gift of salvation. That's how we obtain eternal salvation, too.
Then Paul goes on to share his heart's desire, which was to know the Lord. Not just be aware of or acquainted with. He wanted to get to know Jesus intimately. The word for "know" here is the greek word, ginosko, which means to come to know, to know absolutely, to understand. It has the sense of progression, day by day, layer upon layer. Paul did, and we should, want to know the Lord more every day than we did the day before. We will never stop learning about Him until that day that we see Him face to face!
The other exciting thing we see here is that at the same time and in the same way we get to know Jesus better, we also come to know the power that is available to us through His resurrection. That is how we do the works that Jesus did and the greater works that He talks about in John 14:12!
The more we know Jesus, the more we will think, talk and act like Jesus. Then we will see the same results Jesus saw! People will be set free and drawn to Him. That's the life we're called to live. What a blessed and powerful life! Thank you Lord Jesus!

Shalom!
Today I want to talk a little about the Apostle Paul. He started out as a Pharisee (Saul) who did not believe in this Jesus. He went about securing permission and orders to round up Christians. In the middle of that assignment he came in contact with Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the Messiah. Saul was forever changed! We see this:
Phil 3:4-6
4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.(KJV)
The Amplified Bible says:
4Though for myself I have [at least grounds] to rely on the flesh. If any other man considers that he has or seems to have reason to rely on the flesh and his physical and outward advantages, I have still more!
5Circumcised when I was eight days old, of the race of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew [and the son] of Hebrews; as to the observance of the Law I was of [the party of] the Pharisees,
6As to my zeal, I was a persecutor of the church, and by the Law's standard of righteousness (supposed justice, uprightness, and right standing with God) I was proven to be blameless and no fault was found with me.
Saul had it made! He had honor and respect. He had a position. But, after His encounter with Jesus, this is what Saul thought of all that:
Phil 3:7-8
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,(KJV)

8Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One),
Paul considered nothing in his life, before or after, worthy of being compared to "knowing" Jesus! In fact, in comparison, he considered all of those things to be as rubbish (one translation says "manure"). That should be our heart attitude. Nothing and no one should be more important than, or allowed to interfer with, our time spent with Him because getting to know Him is vital to our life as a believer.

Shalom!
Today we're going to look at Psalm 103 again:
Psalm 103:6-12
6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Verse 6 tells us that it is the Lord, referring to Yehovah, the Eternal, self-existing One, Who has the ultimate responsibility for rightness and justice. It would benefit us greatly to get to know this Lord in a more personal way! That is possible. Verse 7 tells us that Moses knew Him that way! Because he pursued Him, the Lord made known His "ways", His character and manner of life, to Moses. The other children of Israel, though God's chosen people, only understood His deeds, His actions.
Verse 8 shows some of that character, telling us that He is compassionate and full of grace towards us. He is very patient and full of mercy. Verse 9 says that He will not hold or carry a grudge against us.
Hallelujah for verse 10 that says He will not see us through or deal with us over our sin! Those of us who fear Him, who are in reverant and worshipful awe of Him, will see His great mercy!
You can't get any further apart than the distance that separates the East from the West. That's how far He has removed our sin nature from us when we received Jesus as our Lord and personal Savior! In fact, our nature was changed at the moment of our new birth:
2 Cor 5:1717
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.(KJV)
2 Cor 5:2121
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.(KJV)
We were MADE righteous! We don't have to try to BECOME righteous, in right standing with God! That's the work of the Holy Spirit when we believe and receive!

The Scriptures I want to share with you today are from the Book of Psalms. The Psalms (Hebrew : TeHillim=Praises) are a living testimony of God's people as a nation (Israel) and as individuals. They reflect the hardships and struggles of life, and how the people conquered despair through faith in the living God. We find a reference to that concerning David:
1 Sam 30:66
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.(KJV).
I believe that David used the Psalms to remind himself of the faithfulness of God to His people and His promises. Today we want to look at :
1 Sam 30:66

The Amplified Bible gives a clearer picture of these verses:
Psalm 103

1 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name!
2Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits--
3Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,
4Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy;
5Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle's [strong, overcoming, soaring]!
He IS the God who has done all of these things for you! As you study and meditate on the Word of God, you will begin to realize all that the Lord has provided for you. When that becomes REAL to you, you won't be able to stop the praises from flowing!

Shalom!

The Hebrew word SHALOM is understood around the world to mean peace. But peace is only one small part of the meaning of the word SHALOM. Here in Israel, even though we don't have much in the way of peace, we use the word SHALOM on a daily basis. We use it to greet people with, and we use it to bid farewell to people. However, SHALOM means much more than peace, hello or goodbye.
Strong's Concordance 7965 - Hebrew Shalom ..... A word study in the New King James version for SHALOM says: Completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord.
Shalom comes from the root verb Shalam meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In modern Hebrew the obviously related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be fully paid.
Sar SHALOM (Prince of Peace) is one of the descriptive names the Bible uses to indicate the ministry and personality of the Messiah: Isaiah 9:6 - The Son of God is completely perfect in all things.
So in essence, when you speak out the word SHALOM - you are not only proclaiming peace, but all the above meanings of the word over that person - that's a mighty blessing!!!
Remember what the word of God says - "there is life or death in the power of the tongue".
We recently heard someone on a Christian TV program say: "No wonder the Jewish people are so blessed, because every time they say Shalom to one another, they are also allowing the full meaning (see above) of SHALOM to be pronounced over them. He humorously proceeded to say that this greeting word would be much more beneficial to the American people if they greeted each other with SHALOM instead of their usual "Hi" or "Howdy" greeting. As Josie and I adapted to life in Israel, we adapted to the SHALOM habit over the "Hi" habit....As Messianic Jews, we are called to bless you and we take that very seriously, by praying for you and by greeting you with SHALOM. Therefore, from now on, when we or someone says SHALOM to you, you should receive it as a tremendous blessing. And bless them back with a hearty SHALOM!
"Numbers 6:24-26: The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His face upon you and give you SHALOM. In the name of SAR SHALOM - the Prince of Peace.

We recently heard someone on a Christian TV program say: "No wonder the Jewish people are so blessed, because every time they say Shalom to one another, they are also allowing the full meaning (see above) of SHALOM to be pronounced over them. He humorously proceeded to say that this greeting word would be much more beneficial to the American people if they greeted each other with SHALOM instead of their usual "Hi" or "Howdy" greeting. As Josie and I adapted to life in Israel, we adapted to the SHALOM habit over the "Hi" habit....As Messianic Jews, we are called to bless you and we take that very seriously, by praying for you and by greeting you with SHALOM. Therefore, from now on, when we or someone says SHALOM to you, you should receive it as a tremendous blessing. And bless them back with a hearty SHALOM!
