I have always loved the Book of John. It IS my favorite Gospel, although I LOVE all of the Word of God. John 1:1-4:
1 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2 He was present originally with God. 3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. 4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
This book begins with JESUS! I love that the Amplified Bible adds "before all time" to "In the beginning"! Time is only relative to this world. God created time for us to operate in. From the very beginning of all things, JESUS was with God and One with Him. Verse 3 goes on to tell us that JESUS was directly involved in the creation of all things! Go back and read again the account of Creation in Genesis! The Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit - "let us make man") had the idea. JESUS spoke the Word ("Let there be light" or, more accurately, "Light Be") and Holy Spirit carried it out (moved upon the face of the waters). This same JESUS came into the world for the very purpose of becoming OUR Saviour! The very LIFE (Zoe) of God was IN HIM, and IS NOW inside of every born again believer! You and I must meditate on that Truth until we are so convinced of it that we will NEVER give in to fear, worry, guilt, doubt or unbelief again! Look at John 1:5:
5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
The forces of darkness can NEVER defeat the Life and Light of God that is within YOU! Stand strong against every attack of the enemy with the Word of God and see VICTORY after VICTORY in every area of your life! John 8:31-32 tell us how to get and operate in that TRUTH.
31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free. AMP
