Shalom,

Today we read again the account of Balaam and the donkey! To the casual Bible reader, it may seem strange that Balaam was displeasing to the Lord by going when the Lord told him to go, but DID He? Look at Numbers 2:20-22:

20 And God came to Balaam at night, and said to him, If the men come to call you, rise up and go with them, but still only what I tell you may you do. 21 And Balaam rose up in the morning and saddled his donkey and went with the princes of Moab. 22 And God's anger was kindled because he went, and the Angel of the Lord stood in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his donkey, and his two servants were with him

What was the sin of Balaam? God said "IF the men come to call you, rise up and go". Balaam was so pumped to do this that he didn't wait to see "IF" the  men would come, the condition that God had given him, and he went! Balaam was only protected by the fact that his faithful donkey refused to go any further! Make sure that YOU are taking the time that is necessary to clearly hear the instruction that the Holy Spirit gives to YOU! Don't get out ahead of God! He has prepared a way for you, but you will not find the protection, provision and safety you need from God if you are on the wrong path! Confess the sin when you miss it and get right back in right fellowship with Him and continue under His protection! AMEN! Here is Hillsong Live with "I Surrender":

Shalom in Him!
