Shalom,

The Proverbs we will be looking at over the next several days are filled with God's Wisdom. Every verse is a contrast of wisdom and foolishness. Most of them are very self-explanatory so we will just talk about a couple each day as the Lord directs. Today we will look first at verse 14:

14Where no wise guidance is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

This says that without "counsel" or "wise guidance", people will "fall", the Hebrew word, "naphal", which means: to fall, to fall short, to fail, to be inferior to, to waste away, to knock out, BUT, with a multitude ( an abundance ) of WISE counselors, there is safety (salvation, deliverance). There are certainly a real multitude of different, so-called experts out there who want us to take THEIR counsel. BUT, only the WISE counsel that comes from God's Word will bring safety and deliverance to us! The wisest counselors I have ever found are Jesus, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, David, Solomon, Joshua.....! You get the idea!

Verses 24-25:

24There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want. 25The liberal person shall be enriched, and he who waters shall himself be watered.

To many people, it doesn't make sense to give money and possessions away when you have needs in your own life. That is where we have to make the choice between God's way and the world's way. The world's way may LOOK, to our natural minds, like the best way, but God's way IS ALWAYS the best! You can't out-give God (Just try it sometime!) He will ALWAYS repay, multiplied, back into our lives. God's Word WORKS for those who dare to work it!

In John 21 we see Jesus appearing to His disciples another time after His resurrection. Verse 11 always makes me laugh!

11So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net to land, full of large fish, 153 of them; and [though] there were so many of them, the net was not torn.

They hadn't caught anything all night, but at the Word of Jesus, they put a net in and out came 153 fish! Why 153? That's one I will ask Jesus about sometime when I see Him! It won't be the very first question I'll ask, but, sometime throughout eternity, I'm sure it will come up!

I LOVE verse 25!

25And there are also many other things which Jesus did. If they should be all recorded one by one [in detail], I suppose that even the world itself could not contain (have room for) the books that would be written.

That really says it all concerning our wonderful and awe-inspiring God! If the world couldn't contain the books of God's wonderful works back then, there is no hope that it could NOW! Remember to thank Him daily for all that He has done for you! Keep an"attitude of gratitude" where the things of God are concerned and you will never be without deliverance whenever you need it! AMEN!

In 2 Samuel we find that David was still so grateful and thankful to Almighty God for all of the past victories that he wanted to be a blessing to others. That IS usually the result of maintaining a grateful, thankful heart! Being a blessing to Jonathan's son turns out great! Being a blessing to the Ammonites doesn't turn out so well, especially for the servants David sent. It worked out even WORSE for the Ammonites and their helpers, though! Touch NOT God's anointed! AMEN!

Shalom in Him!
