Shalom,

Proverbs 12:1:

1Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

This verse says that the person who loves "instruction", the Hebrew word, "muwcar", which means: discipline, chastening, correction, reproof, warning, loves "knowledge", the Hebrew word, "da`ath", which means: knowledge, perception, skill, discernment, understanding and wisdom. The contrasting idea is that he who hates this correction is "brutish", the Hebrew word, "ba`ar", which means: to be stupid, to be brutish, the be barbarous, to be dull-hearted, to be unreceptive. The Amplified Bible says this:

1WHOEVER LOVES instruction and correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is like a brute beast, stupid and indiscriminating.

Verse 15 describes many who are in positions of authority these days!

15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise.

People without the Word of God have no idea of right and wrong or Truth and error. They are "right in their own eyes"! They don't even realize when common sense has fled! Listen to the WISE counsel of those who know God's Word and you WILL become wiser! AMEN!

Galatians 1:1:

1PAUL, AN apostle--[special messenger appointed and commissioned and sent out] not from [any body of] men nor by or through any man, but by and through Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and God the Father, Who raised Him from among the dead--

Paul is saying that he was called as an apostle by Jesus Himself and God the Father. No man decided to make Paul an apostle, and they didn't draw straws for this one! Paul was called, anointed, appointed and, at the right time, separated BY GOD to the ministry that he walked in. You and I are also called, anointed and appointed to fulfill the individual and unique assignment that God has given us! Find out what YOU are called to do and then do it with your whole heart! God will be pleased and YOU will be blessed! AMEN!

Galatians 1:6-7:

6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

I LOVE Pastor Bob Yandian's teaching on these verses! Paul is amazed that these people were so quickly deceived into believing "another" gospel than the TRUE Gospel that they had believed at one time. This word, "another", is the Hebrew word, "heteros", which means: other, altered, different and strange ("another of a different sort or kind"). It is "another" gospel that is very different from the Truth. Verse 7 says that it is NOT "another" , the Hebrew word, "allos", which means: "another of the same sort or kind". This so-called gospel that the people were believing was NOT the Truth and Paul is shocked that they could be so easily led astray from the Truth! Here are these verses from the Amplified Bible:

6I am surprised and astonished that you are so quickly turning renegade and deserting Him Who invited and called you by the grace (unmerited favor) of Christ (the Messiah) [and that you are transferring your allegiance] to a different [even an opposition] gospel. 7Not that there is [or could be] any other [genuine Gospel], but there are [obviously] some who are troubling and disturbing and bewildering you [with a different kind of teaching which they offer as a gospel] and want to pervert and distort the Gospel of Christ (the Messiah) [into something which it absolutely is not].

Remember John 17:17 says "Thy Word IS Truth"! If you and I are to properly discern the Truth, we must spend time WITH the Truth! That means spending time in the Word of God! AMEN!

All that we need to know about how the situation between David and Bathsheba came to be is to look at 2 Samuel 11:1-2:

1IN THE spring, when kings go forth to battle, David sent Joab with his servants and all Israel, and they ravaged the Ammonites [country] and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.

2One evening David arose from his couch and was walking on the roof of the king's house, when from there he saw a woman bathing; and she was very lovely to behold.

This was the time when kings belong in battle! Why was the king NOT going into battle with his armies? What was he doing sitting on a couch all day! That is what being a "couch potato" will do to you! Be busy with the things that God has called you to do and you won't have time to get caught up in sin! AMEN! David could have and would have avoided a whole lot of trouble for himself and many others if he had just done what kings are supposed to do at that time! AMEN! But he DID find out about God's forgiveness, grace and mercy then! He picked himself back up and got back on track in his goal of chasing after God's heart! AMEN!

Shalom in Him!
