We read Psalm 9 in today's Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan! Now, I have a question for you! Have YOU been a DOER of verses 1-2 yet today?
1 I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works and wonderful deeds! 2 I will rejoice in You and be in high spirits; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High!
THIS is the way that every born again believer should begin each and every day! If we do not, then our faith in HIS protection, provision and safety will NOT be as strong and powerful as it needs to be to be able to WALK in the results of this consistently! We know from Romans 10:17 that faith COMES by hearing the Word of God! Putting the Word of God into practice is the most advanced way of 'hearing'! I like to look at this as "hearing for the purpose of doing (obeying)". THAT will cause faith to rise and become strong! So what are these works that we are to be showing off and telling about? Look at verses 4-7 to see what David spoke of!
4 For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging righteously. 5 You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever. 6 The enemy have been cut off and have vanished in everlasting ruins, You have plucked up and overthrown their cities; the very memory of them has perished and vanished. 7 But the Lord shall remain and continue forever; He has prepared and established His throne for judgment.
Remember, our God is no respecter of people! He does NOT do something for one that He is not willing to do for another. Whether or not He does something in our lives depends completely on OUR actions and choices! If we choose to think, speak and act according to His Word, then HE will confirm that Word with signs, wonders and miracles! Verse 10 gives us this promise:
10 And they who know Your name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You [on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity].
Let's make it our goal to BE ones who KNOW His Name (Philippians 3:10 AMP) and have faith, trust and confidence in His Word! We will NOT be disappointed! Here is Hillsong Worship with "Look To The Son":
Shalom in Him!
