As we continue through the Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan this year, I would suggest that you keep a notebook/journal handy so that you can keep track of all the times that God declared His protection, provision and safety over His people. Unbelievers have no clue whatsoever of the wonderful blessings that God has decreed over His Covenant people, first of all Israel and now over the church of Jesus Christ (all born again believers). By doing this, you will already know how God views the issues that are being discussed throughout the world concerning Israel and His people. If you have been paying attention, the world and the devil have an inordinate hatred for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people. In 1948, when Israel became a nation again, in the eyes of the world, by agreeing to a much smaller area of land than that which the God of the Bible had allotted to them, every surrounding Arab nation attacked Israel! What happened? The God of the Bible fought for them and this tiny little part of a nation defeated ALL of the armies that attacked them! These same nations, either separately or by groups joined together in alliance, continued over the years to again and again and again attack Israel. Now our own outgoing president has set himself against Israel! Make sure that YOU are not siding with this completely ungodly act! It WILL affect YOUR future! Look at Psalm 2:1-3:
1 Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme? 2 The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say, 3 Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.
How does the God of the Bible respond to these ungodly acts that defy HIM? Look at verses 4-6:
4 He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them]. 5 He speaks to them in His deep anger and troubles (terrifies and confounds) them in His displeasure and fury, saying, 6 Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.
NOTHING that these people or nations do will change the plans of the God of the Bible one bit! He has spoken and His will WILL be done! THEY are putting themselves in opposition to Him and that is NOT the place anyone wants to be! He gives this warning in verses 10-12:
10 Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him]. 12 Kiss the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled. O blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!
AMEN! NOW you see which side in this issue is GOD'S side! I suggest that you choose THAT side! My opinion and your opinion mean NOTHING! The only ONE with a RIGHT to an opinion on the matter is GOD! Let's make sure that we always agree with HIM! Here is Hillsong Worship with "In God We Trust":
