Shalom, We read Psalm 107 today in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan. There is one verse in this Psalm that is repeated 4 separate times. Verse 8, 15, 21, and 31: Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! KJV
"Praise" here is the Hebrew word "yadah", which means: to hold out the hand; to revere or worship with extended hand, to laud, to acknowledge. The "LORD" here is Yehovah or Yahweh, which means: the Eternal Self-existent One, and is the Covenant Name for Almighty God! His "goodness" is the Hebrew word "checed", which means: kindness, goodness, faithfulness, loving-kindness, steadfast love, grace, mercy and devotion. His "wonderful works" is the Hebrew word "pala`", which means: to be marvelous, to be wonderful, to be surpassing, to be extraordinary, to be separate by distinguishing action. Do you see that we are to be acknowledging the greatness of our God with worship and reverence, lifting out hands to Him and telling all people of how very wonderful He is? Do you see that we can COUNT in Him completely because of His kindness, goodness, mercy and steadfast love TO US? Are you DOING these things? If not, this could just be why SOME of the manifestation of answered prayer has not yet happened in your life! This Psalm is filled with testimony after testimony after testimony of the wonderful and powerful God that we serve and Who has loved us sop very much! AMEN! Make sure that YOU are giving God the credit for every good thing in your life (James 1:17) and that will give you utmost confidence that he will continue to BE that wonderful Blessing to YOU! AMEN!
