Shalom,

Every time that I read the account of the woman anointing Jesus with the precious and valuable ointment I can almost picture the entire scene! Mark 14:3:

And while He was in Bethany, [a guest] in the house of Simon the leper, as He was reclining [at table], a woman came with an alabaster jar of ointment (perfume) of pure nard, very costly and precious; and she broke the jar and poured [the perfume] over His head.

Can you imagine her countenance as she poured this valuable substance over Him, probably the most valuable thing she owned? She was actually pouring her heart out to Him! Her love was really the more valuable substance! I LOVE this! And, of course, the moment anyone reveals their genuine love for Jesus, the naysayers come out in force! Verses 4-5:
But there were some who were moved with indignation and said to themselves, To what purpose was the ointment (perfume) thus wasted? For it was possible to have sold this [perfume] for more than 300 denarii [a laboring man’s wages for a year] and to have given [the money] to the poor. And they censured and reproved her.

Can you even imagine the looks on their faces as they were "moved with indignation"? Actually, I believe what we would see would be looks of embarrassment and jealousy! Everyone in that room SHOULD have been able to convey their love for Jesus in such a way, but they did not! Many who came to Jesus came to GET something from Him! Here they were in the presence of genuine love and devotion and they came up short! Recognize this when you are faced with criticism and censure for your own devotion to Him! Many are intimidated by the boldness of true believers! But, recognize that everything you do and every seed that you sow will be a witness and a testimony that HE is REAL! Those who observe you will never be able to forget that! At some point, many of them will make their own determined purpose to love and serve Him and your boldness will have been influential to that decision! AMEN! In fact, look at what Jesus said about this woman's simple and very powerful act! Verses 6-9:
But Jesus said, Let her alone; why are you troubling her? She has done a good and beautiful thing to Me [praiseworthy and noble]. For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish you can do good to them; but you will not always have Me. She has done what she could; she came beforehand to anoint My body for the burial. And surely I tell you, wherever the good news (the Gospel) is proclaimed in the entire world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.

Remember, YOU are a "living Epistle" (2 Corinthians 3:2) and people are watching you! Give them something to remember! Here is Hillsong United with "When I Lost My Heart To You":

Shalom in Him!
