Have you ever meditated on eternity? It doesn't take long to become "mind boggled" when trying to imagine what the absence of time as we know it would be like! One of the definitions for the Hebrew word for "forever" found in Psalm 89:36 (`owlam) is "time out of mind". We will never, in this life, comprehend what that will be like. When we read through Psalm 37 for today, we are encouraged more than once to "fret not because of evildoers". Look at verses 1-2; 7b; 8-10:
1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness (that which is not upright or in right standing with God). 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
7 fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; fret not yourself—it tends only to evildoing. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait and hope and look for the Lord [in the end] shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while, and the evildoers will be no more; though you look with care where they used to be, they will not be found.
Notice that in verse 2 it says that the evildoers will soon be taken out of the way. God does NOT measure time in the spiritual realm as it is measured in the natural, physical realm that we live in. Remember that in the scope of all eternity, this life is but a vapor (James 4:14)! HE is looking forward to the time when WE will be with HIM forever! Until then, we have the promises in verses 3-6; 11; 18-19; 33-34; 39-40! The time for standing strong in faith on the promises of God's Word is right now! Soon and very soon we will no longer need to do so because we will be WITH Him! HALLELUJAH! Until then, let's "occupy" until He comes (Luke 19:13). This is the Greek word "pragmateuomai" and it means: to busy oneself with, to carry on business. Let's be found busy with the plan and purposes of God when Jesus appears for the Church! I personally believe that he will SHOUT "WELL DONE"! AMEN! Here is Hillsong United with "Go":
Shalom in Him!
