In Psalm 52 today we read what the response of God will be to the evil doers who want nothing to do with Him! The response of the righteous is found in verses 6-8:
6 The [uncompromisingly] righteous also shall see [it] and be in reverent fear and awe, but about you they will [scoffingly] laugh, saying, 7 See, this is the man who made not God his strength (his stronghold and high tower) but trusted in and confidently relied on the abundance of his riches, seeking refuge and security for himself through his wickedness. 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in and confidently rely on the loving-kindness and the mercy of God forever and ever.
When we visited Israel we were taught about olive trees! A green olive tree is one that is producing olives. One of the interesting things we learned is that olive trees live for a very, very long time! The outside of them may look old and dead, but new branches grow up from the inside and continue to produce fruit! The believer who keeps Jesus as their #1 priority, and stays in the Word and in intimate fellowship with Him, will continue to be vibrant, full of life and productive for as long as they live on this earth! There is NO retiring for the believer! Just keep sharing the Gospel and doing the "works" that Jesus did (John 14:12)! AMEN! Verse 9 is our attitude!
9 I will thank You and confide in You forever, because You have done it [delivered me and kept me safe]. I will wait on, hope in and expect in Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your saints (Your kind and pious ones).
Trust in the Greater One Who lives in you (1 John 4:4) to bring you through anything and everything, and to continually anoint you with His presence and His power to fulfill what HE has called YOU to do! Now DO IT! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Children Of The Light":
Shalom in Him!
