Today I was rejoicing again at the wonderful timing of the Lord! We are instructed in Galatians 6:9 about God's "due season":
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
KJV
HIS timing is impeccable! It is perfect! It is effective! Look at Acts 3:1-9:
3 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God: KJV
Acts 4:22 tells us that this man was 40 years old. He was "laid daily at the gate of the temple". That means that every time Jesus went through these gates, this man was there! Why didn't Jesus heal the man? Because HIS timing is PERFECT! Jesus, operating through Peter and John now that HE had ascended to Heaven, was showing Himself off to the world! This "hour of prayer" was the time of the saying of the Amidah Prayer, also called "The Standing Prayer", which was composed during the time of Ezra and Nehemiah. You can find a copy of this prayer here:
This prayer, to be prayed in a standing position, was done three times a day at the hours of prayer (9am, 12, 3pm). Peter and John were going into the temple for this prayer. The lame man, being lame from birth, had never prayed the standing prayer! One of the prayers is for healing! It reads:
"Heal us, Oh Lord, and we will be healed; save us and we will be saved. For You are our praise. Oh grant a perfect healing to all our ailments, for You, Almighty King, are a faithful
and merciful healer. Blessed are You, O
Lord, the healer of the sick of His people Israel."
This man, with strength in his feet and ankles, now went into the temple "walking, and leaping, and praising God." At the hour of prayer, he received the answer to HIS prayer! HALLELUJAH! Never give up, never give in! Your God-given answer to prayer is on the way! Look again at Galatians 6:9 from the Amplified Bible:
9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
