I have shared this before, but but it is important enough to share again! We read Psalm 107 today. Verses 1-2:
1 O GIVE thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever! 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has delivered from the hand of the adversary
As I have shared before, the first verse does not actually include the words: He is, or endures. It actually should read like this:
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for good, for mercy, forever!
We know from James 1:7 that every good and perfect thing in our lives is a gift that comes from the One, True, Most High, Living, Almighty God of the Bible! So, we are to thank HIM for GOOD and for MERCY, which originates in HIM also! And how long should we do this? FOREVER! Now, to the main emphasis for today, verse 2 ACTUALLY says:
Let the redeemed of the LORD say
We are not instructed HERE to say "I'm redeemed", although that is a message we SHOULD share. But THIS instruction is to say what has just been said! The psalmist has just said it, and now the congregation of the redeemed is instructed to say this also! WE are to instruct others to:
Give thanks to the LORD for good and for mercy, FOREVER!
What are YOU saying? Give HIM the praise and honor and glory that is DUE to Him! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Praise Him":
