We are so very blessed to be alive at such a time as this! God has ALWAYS provided for His people when they loved Him with their whole hearts and obeyed His Word! His Covenants are GOOD, but our New Covenant, based on better promises is the BEST so far! Look at Psalm 6:5:
5 For in death there is no remembrance of You; in Sheol (the place of the dead) who will give You thanks?
When the Old Testament believers left this life, their spirit and soul did NOT go to Heaven! The Bible says that they went to Sheol (the place of the dead). Unbelievers went to hell and believers went to "paradise" (Luke 16:22-26)! It was not until the Church age, after the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, that believers began to go directly to Heaven (2 Corinthians 5:8)! Hallelujah! The moment a believer in Jesus leaves this earth, they are immediately in the presence of the LORD! This is a glorious promise to look forward to, but not TOO soon!
